Cada día se regresa más a “la nueva normalidad” y un patrón que estamos viendo de manera más constante es el uso del termómetro infrarrojos para la valoración de la temperatura y poder detectar fiebre, síntoma que nos hace sospechar en un contagio de COVID 19.
En México a pesar del tiempo que hemos vivido con esta situación de COVID 19 y los cambios de 180 grados que hemos experimentado; gran parte de la población no cree en la existencia del virus e incluso se han inventado historias sobre las verdaderas razones detrás del Covid-19, como que en realidad era un invento para poder sacar el líquido de las rodillas a los pacientes hospitalizados, teoría que desató muchos memes en redes sociales y que en las instituciones de salud creadas y que atienden esta situación de salud mataban al adulto mayor simplemente porque si.
Ahora, con la entrada de la nueva normalidad en el país, los termómetro infrarrojos son los que se usan en diversos establecimientos los que han provocado desconfianza en la población debido a las noticias falsas que circulan en internet.

¿Cómo funciona el termómetro infrarrojos?
Como cualquier termómetro, su única función en medir la temperatura que emite el cuerpo, es por ello que se recomienda colocarlo en a la altura de la frente o la sien, que son dos zonas más sensibles.
La luz infrarroja no genera ningún tipo de energía, solo se usa para medir la distancia entre el aparato y el cuerpo, por lo que no produce ningún daño, por lo que no dañan las neuronas como muchas gente lo manifiesta.
Se recomienda que el termómetro se coloque a una distancia de cinco centímetros del paciente para que haya una correcta medición y no porque produzca daño cerebral; si la temperatura del sujeto es entre 37.5 y 38 grados se le recomendará acudir a una consulta médica.
